In this weeks Photo of the Week on The Daily Critique Craig discusses a very beautiful and stark landscape architecture image. Craig talks about how diagonal convergence, subject matter, and dark to light tonal movement all work together in this image to create a very powerful illusion of movement through the space of the image. Craig also talks about how a strong initial suggestion of symmetry followed by subtle breaks in the symmetry can create a powerful overlay of information that holds the viewers eye for a long time. This is actually a styling technique that is often employed in commercial interior architectural photography. Craig also looks at a very beautiful, colorful, graphic and stark landscape architecture image of The Sunshine Parkway Bridge. Craig talks about how shooting straight in and centering your subject matter can be a very effective composition choice when shooting architectural structures that are very symmetrical to begin with.
