  • @UtahMormon90

You really don't "know" you just hope they are true because if they are not you are doomed.

I know that the LDS is not true.

I know Mormons are not Christians.

I know that Joseph Smith was a fraud.

I know that the BoM is not another testament of Jesus Christ.

I know that Thomas Monson is the CEO of LDS INC and not a prophet.

Feel free to continue to follow your Con-Man Prophet and your insane Man Worship Doctrine.

And I will continue to tell the truth about them.

  • Glad you are continuing to peel the onion, Shawn!! Keep up the good work!

  • AS Christians we beleive in The red sea parting, the Ark that had all the animals on it, the fire from heaven, The whale eating Jonah,The serpant that saved the people from perishing etc.

If you beleive in these things.a question. why not the real story about joseph not a version filled with someones opinions shown in this video.something to ponder on.

  • interesting, If you type in Plates of Darius in google you will see a golden plates found recently in the americas. This is dated around the time period the Book of Mormon was written.

This is some proof that the ancient cultures of america used this process of record keeping.

Also to my understanding the Plates Joseph was led to was made of various metal materials not just gold.

  • Shields claims the Tumbaga Gold plates weighed up to 86-pounds. That means Joseph ran at full speed thru the woods, dodging tree limbs, leaping fallen logs, fending off 3 attackers - while carrying up to 86-pound Tumbaga Gold plates. But the tale becomes even MORE far-fetched:

This begs the question: How and WHY did Moroni - who was dying, and carrying 86-pound Tumbaga Gold plates - wander 4,000 MILES from Central America to a random hilltop in upper New York State - just to bury the plates?

  • Pt.2: This was a break for the LDS. Central America had a ready supply of Lamanite artifacts. Well, they were really Aztec & Mayan artifacts - but, that didn't stop the Mormons.

When the Gentile world asked, "How could Joseph Smith run at full speed carrying 200 pound solid gold plates?", the LDS Church had an "out". Now the spin is, "Well, they weren't SOLID gold - they were a gold alloy called Tumbaga - made by the Indians of Central American, who were highly advanced in metalurgy". MORE...

  • Everytime the LDS Church changes the story of the Gold Plates - they dig a bigger hole for themselves. Originally the battle between the Nephites and Lamanites was said to take place in Wayne County, New York - which explains Moroni burying the gold plates in Hill Cumorah.

When the "Gentile" world asked - Where's the evidence of these civilizations or of the battle - the LDS Spin Machine went into action. They came up with the spin that it all took place in Central America. MORE . . .

  • @2003SCT: I don't find the Apostle Paul doing anything for his own gain.Everything Paul taught brought glory to God. Joseph's tales and boasts brought glory to Joseph. I don't find Paul saying "Thus sayeth the Lord" in order to shag 34 married women and teenage girls. I don't find one thing Paul did that brought him anything but imprisonment and beatings. I don't find Paul going out with guns a-blazin'. To put Paul on equal par with Joseph Smith is absurd.

  • @2003SCT Joseph Smith's motivation is a common one: power and women. Lot's of women. From a secular point of view, I don't see Paul's "angle", his "con" involved a lot of work, no women, no money. Compared to Joe, Paul was a dismal failure as a con.

  • Joseph Smith was a con man..then again so was the Apostle Paul. Most of what you have in the New Testament is "according to Paul" really. He had a "magical experience"..kinda like Joseph Smith. Confusion and Misapprehension separated by a few thousand years. :)

  • @2011neesh

Is Jesus the Word, the eternal (notice I said eternal, not created) God through whom all things came into being? (note: *all* things cannot come into being through a being who was himself created) And did this same Word, who is the eternal God become a man?

Or do you believe in a different Jesus?
