I sent my Wii for repair to Nintendo. REMEMBER: The SSBB disk error IS A MANUFACTURES ISSUE SO NINTENDO WILL FIX IT FOR FREE!!!!!! Here are the preparations and results. NOTE: When sending your Wii make sure you follow the instructions given to you by Nintendo to ensure fast repair and return of your components.

  • My Wii had problems playing SSBB and the SD card slot was broken. So I gave it to my dad to get it fixed, but he didn't send it to Nintendo. When I got it back ALL OF MY MEMORY WAS GONE! The memory data, the channels, even my Wii Shop Channel account was deleted! I've looked on the internet about these problems and I haven't heard a thing about losing memory when getting the Wii fixed for these problems. Does anyone know about this, like if I can get it back or if it's the fault of the company?

  • @DDFawfulGuy wow that sucks. who repaired it? I've never heard of anything like that happening. although nintendo always recommends to back up your data when sending the Wii/DS/3DS in. I'm wondering if your Wii Shop Channel info is still in the server since it is linked to your Wii. I wonder also if whomever repaired your Wii (if it wasn't Nintendo) changed your Wii completely since everything is gone.

  • hey i need help when i put a clean non-sracted disc it doesn't let it read it wat should i do?

  • @Blue1000ish hey, sorry about the super late response. If you still have the problem please tell me, which game is it that you are putting in the wii? I want to know if is a single layered or double layered disk.

  • Lol, you made a video on how to send your Wii away fro service? Lol...lame.....

  • @OriginalMergatroid well, technically the video is not about how to send the Wii for repair but rather that sending the Wii for repair IS the best option to fix the infamous SSBB problem. The instructions on "how to send it" were just to emphasize the importance on following Nintendo's instructions when packing and shipping the console to them.

  • hey does anyone know why my cousins SSBB doesnt let her play as Zelda/Shiek or Yoshi it says disc could not be read & look at manuel

  • @WiiDareYou

    From the bill I got with Wii when my dad gave it to me, the company is called

    "CD 24-7".

    It's too bad I couldn't save a back up data since the SD card slot was part of the problem. By the way, the bill says in the description: Nintendo Wii DVD Drive Laser Replacement / Motherboard Repairs 15493365. It costs £40, but now I'm sure that the SD card slot works now, and I can play SSBB on it...

  • @WiiDareYou well i can no longer reformat it cause i dont have the HBC, but if iam able to use letterbomb to reinstall the HBC i could reformat it, get rid of all the other problems and send it to nintendo for the disc drive repair, but i have VC games, so iam not going to reformat ;-;

  • @VIsiTation hey, sorry been busy playing Zelda, lol. Honestly I'm not sure if after updating the wii the update would leave any traces of the HB app. I know probably the best way to get rid of it MIGHT be to reformat the drive but you would also lose any DLC and save files you might have. You should be fine but not really sure. Sorry. :-/

  • @WiiDareYou okey, but i dont have homebrew anymore, will it be free?

    i updated my wii so the all homebrew will be deleted, but do you think it has left some marks?

  • @BIueFalcon I don't think they'll refuse to repair it. But for sure they'll reverse any unofficial modifications and charge you for whatever work is done on the Wii.
