No this horse isn't stretching as many of you think he is. He mostly does this when the saddle is on. Sometimes he does this out in the pasture, not often. He is retired now and is not ridden, He is living the good life eating and pooping a lot out in our 20 acre pasture. He has a big stall for bad weather.

  • can i use this for a video i am making ? i'll give you full credit :D

  • Respond to this video... sure

  • Is It Me Or Does He Have Red Hooves At The Front??

  • @MyLove4Horses He wears bell boots all the time, if not, when he runs his back feet over reach and take his front shoes off. He cannot go barefoot on the front he is so tender.

  • just wondering if he's a 'wobbler'? did he do this with a rider? i'd be interested to know please

  • @xapplejackx No he isn't a wobbler. Yes he would do this with a rider if he was standing still for longer than a couple minutes then if he started it, all we had to do is ask him to take a step forward and he would wake up. It was hard to bridle him we had to keep walking forward if he stood still he would start to go to sleep. He was a wonderful lesson horse and is now retired eating me out of house and home! Love him and he taught hundreds of beginner riders he was amazing.

  • I had an ex-racehorse I had been working with, she'd do the same thing but she wasn't falling asleep. Not sure what it is, but I don't think it's falling asleep-

They sleep standing up most of the time, horses dozing off don't do that- even if they go to lay down to sleep, they go down, buckling the front knees, kneeling first, rest down after...

  • when you said at the beginning that you know he's not stretching because he lowered his head, well thats just ignorance! Why do you think that when you cool down and warm up a horse you lower its head. No it doesn't always mean their stretching but lowering of the head DOES NOT mean that they are falling asleep I have seen horses stretch like that one did several of times and I have been riding since I was 3 and training with vets for several years now. Don't own a horse if you don't know that

  • He was like "why can't i lie down?? UGG!!" lol love him very cute:)

  • @Princeaboo What are BellBoots?

  • @MyLove4Horses those are bell boots. not his hooves

  • My horse did that to me once, i was sitting on him for half an hour talking to a friend, and all of a sudden, he went to go lay down, i only gave him a squeeze and he woke right up.

ive never had one of my horses actually fall asleep on me before haha :)

  • @TheJadeamp242 He is falling asleep i rode a horse that did this on the cross ties and he was archaleptic which ment he fell over when i fell asleep standing up and he basically almost fell over on the cross ties.

  • He's not falling asleep. My OTTB does that too and i don't know why. With and without the saddle on. He's sound and totally fine but he does this occasionally.

  • hihi like romantic nights

  • the sattle might be too tight :/

  • mmh I'm a crazy American girl
