"We are seventh graders at St. Paul's Episcopal School in New Orleans, Louisiana. We were chosen to represent St. Paul's in the TEDx Conference at our school. Once we found out about this great opportunity, we immediately began thinking of great ideas that would illustrate our wonderful program. We explained the sustainability that occurs at our school through our Total Green program. We also came up with three steps that would lead us closer to complete sustainability. Our favorite idea was a teaching robot that would go out into our garden and tell us about the plant it took a picture of and then carry that into our curriculum. That was the most intriguing invention we had heard of that we could actually build.

We also enjoyed the fact that we could learn more about the garden with this experience. It even helped us understand about sustainability more and how much of an impact we have on the world. It also helped us to be aware of why everyone was so excited about our garden. We had never really grasped how many plants and flowers were in the garden and how important each one was to the garden. In addition, this opportunity was very fun.

With this chance we received, we learned many things what we had no idea about. We also learned how sustainability can change the world and make it a better place. This made us more alert about what we are actually talking about and how we can put all of this into play. With the help of our peers, we strive to make our school totally green, but we feel we could even make the world totally green."

We want to show what it means to be totally green through curriculum, community, and campus. We are not just about buildings being green, but a sustainable curriculum. We love our garden that is maintained with the help of our "Paws to Work" program. This program allows students to opportunity to recycle, compose, garden, and be on the beautification committee for campus and community. We can't wait for our outdoor culinary center to be completed where we will star in a Short Chefs program where kids will cook and prepare meals from crops planted in our garden. Green living is normal, not new.
