I was asked by a college buddy to take a vid and post it up. Here it is, it starts, I walk around a bit, and it whistles.

  • not trying to be a dick, but not a compound. MPI's are sequential twins. haha Sick kit tho, i want on too. Currently running a fleece cheetah, gonna use that for my primary charger. Have you made any numbers yet?

  • @kilo6490 - Ummm sequential = compound - its the same thing - its not like I called it "twins" which is technically parallel chargers. I can make up any numbers you want to hear. LOL

  • @HotRodTractor so you dont have any numbers? and no, compound is not the same as sequential. With compounds, the first charger compresses the air, and sends it the the second charger which compresses it more. In sequential twins, like the MPI kit, the smaller primary turbo, usually the stock one, is used for low engine speed situations when quick spool up is wanted, then when engine speeds increase the primary charger is bypassed completely, and the secondary charger is used.

    Not the same. lol

  • @kilo6490 I don't have any "big numbers" because I have never tried - I built this truck to pull a 36' gooseneck with and it does that in a tune that makes about 400HP to the wheels day in day out. And you are WRONG - this is a compound turbo setup - IE there is an atmosphere charger that compresses the air and there is a high pressure charger that further compresses the air. So by your own definition this is a set of compounds - to my knowledge no MPI kit works the way you think it does.

  • hey i think i have the same rims on my dmax... i painted them black tho

  • @dieselfanatic13 No - its 4" directly off the atmosphere turbo and jumps up to 5" as soon as there is room and its 5" the rest of the way - no tip.

  • @dieselfanatic13 Huh? There is an exhaust on it..... don't you see that 5" exhaust pipe in the video?

  • @HotRodTractor you are right. i am wrong. DAMMIT! ha

  • @kilo6490 well... some people do call sequential setups compounds and vise versa, but it's not exactly accurate and confuses people.. A true compound or staged kit is different then sequential twins... all im saying here really, is that the MPI kit is not a compound kit, it's a sequential twin. There are 3 types of twin setups: Parallel, Sequential and Compound(Staged)...

  • One of my dreams to build something like that! Does it sounds like a jet?! :D
