Phil stacey actually lived down da street from mee i was rlly xcited and i didnt know it until he came 2 mi skool 4 veterans day cuz he was in da US navy and i hav his # he might hav changed it idk yall dont hav 2 beleeve mee but its true!!!
Has it occurred to you that maybe he's HAPPY doing his own thing, calling his own shots and playing smaller venues? For a true musician, it's not about money and fame- it's about doing something you love and making a living at it.
There is nothing wrong with fairs. and festivals...many country stars do a lot of them and still do!- they like bringing their music to everyone including small towns Love Bo and Bucky!
Your right w/Clive he would have no control over his music. That is why Kelly Clarkson left him. But you have to admit. He made Kelly and Carrie Underwood HUGE stars and now Kelly can do it her own way. I guess it's really a trade off. More money and success NOT doing it your own way or more happiness, less success doing it your own way. Maybe coming back on AI will put him out in front of millions and remind us the talent we really enjoyed.
It's Bo's previous management who put him where he was then, i.e., RCA. Doing pop music obviously is not his thing and has had lukewarm success there. He had no control over the direction of TRT or his career when he was with them. Everything was all up to Clive.
It's good for him to turn indie now - he gets to do his own music and has new management. He'll be on AI next week, Wednesday to perform with his guitar and talkbox, singing Witness, a song that Clive rejected for the first album.
The clips of Bo and his son get me all teary-eyed. He seems like such a great guy, and it seems like he's doing well for himself, no matter what kind of music he's making.
I really liked Bo before, but his music is no longer songs I can relate to. I guess it's just too 'original' for my taste. Everyone wants to do their thing, but maybe he should have taken the advice of the record producers and he wouldn't be playing at fairgrounds. He SHOULD be doing big gigs because he has the talent for those lg venues. I guess we all have our own path to follow and this new music makes him happy. Best of luck to the guy.
Chris Daughtry is the best thing to ever happen to Idol. Didn't even have to win.
