  • I agree that is frustrating to have the luscious tonalities shortened, but luckily, one can hear the piece slower from another choir. Like the soprano/alto in the opening lines the best. Good enunciation, separation of parts. In its own way, another hit.

  • Goodness! They're just zipping through this, aren't they? And they really hit every "..with might..." with a lot of gusto. WITH'MIGHTDES-troy!

Never knew this piece could be performed like a call to arms; a hymn of the church militant.

  • Yes, the tempo is quite a bit too alacritous, but most American ensemble do this piece way too slow. The German ensembles get it right. Mendelssohn should dance.

  • I actually like the speed the way it is. My church choir sings this just a tad slower than this.

And I can actually understand what everyone is saying! So wonderful to hear a choir actually making use of proper vowels and consonants!

  • This is horrible as the speed was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too fast. What was the "music director" thinking? Was he/she late for another concert? This song should be done slowly because there are so many beautiful parts. And just listen to the end! It's horrible!

  • I agree with the speed, but it's pretty well done. I like that everyone sounds good together, but each section can be picked out, too, 'cause it's helping me learn my part for when we sing it at our next concert.

  • this is nice sonding but way too fast were singing it at my school and it sounds better slower.

  • Nice tonality but way too fast and the director should have used an organ NOT the piano. Diction wayyyyyyyyy overdone. Great sounding tenor section mostly.

  • Woah, is this on a 45 record? What are they in a hurry to get done with this beautiful song?

Sounds like an Irish Hail Mary

  • Too fast. I like the slower one better.
