Celtic art and music emerge from the ensouled landscape of the Celtic countries. They manifest the spiritual presence which characterizes all Celtic lore and legend, a culture where past and present interpenetrate one another and an awareness of the world of spirits and the power of the divine is close at hand. Nigel Campbell Pennick, author of the book "Celtic Sacred Landscapes", is a Celtic Artist, and this video shows some of his work which has been exhibited at exhibitions in Great Britain and the United States. His stained glass window of the Celtic saint Dwynwen, patroness of lovers - the Welsh Venus - is also here. There are also artworks from three great women artists of the Celtic tradition - Mary Watts (1898), Ann Alexander (1927), and Veronica Whall (1930). The music on this video is played by Nigel Campbell Pennick on Mountain Dulcimer and Jon Ward on Bouzouki. Both are members of The Traditional Music of Cambridgeshire Collective, whose CD "Tunes From The North Side Of The River" is available now.
