This classic instrumental Jet Harris And Tony Meehan track was a No 1 for 6 weeks for the duo in 1962 and was re-recorded by The Shadows in 1983 for their XXV album which The Shadows celebrated 25 years with. Written by Jerry Lordan that wrote many other classics recorded by The Shads and Jet & Tony. Although this new recording by The later day Shadows had a great feel and sound it's no match really for the original? by Jet & Tony but still very good! none the less and made a fitting tribute to both them and Jerry back in '83. Enjoy!

  • Jet Harris and Tony Meehans Diamonds was brilliant in it's simplicity, The Shadows version is anything but.

  • @Breatherable Yes i know what you mean. Is hard to improve on such a good Original. The Shadows did well though

  • GREAT VERSION !! I always loved this tune. It is realy Amazing to think about that Both Cliff Richard, The Shadows and Meehan / Harris Was at the top in the early 1960´ties, who can compete with that!! The Recording sound here was ahead of it´s time, and the arrangement super uptodate.

Masterful playing, and clever profesional arrangement. simply the best!!

  • ...Mi pesar por la perdida de unos de mis idolos de juventud Jet Harris...junto no Tony Meehan...estarán a tocando su musica en el cielo. Eterno descanso.

    Last Shadow.
