RESCUED: Gentleman Duke

A short documentary portrait of Lori Brooks, co-founder with her wife, Vicki Alexander, of the Hands Paws Hearts dog rescue in Lancaster, CA, and Duke, a pit bull that survived a life as a "bait dog" in a dog fighting ring. His transformation is both heartbreaking and beautiful.

It breaks my heart every time I see an abused dog. I volunteer for a pit rescue in San Diego. Bless you for your work rescuing dogs. I bought an adult pit in Lancaster and one of the best dogs I ever owned.

I REMEMBER SEEING DUKE FOR THE FIRST TIME...IT BROKE MY HEART...I CRIED...I SAW HIS SWOLLEN FACE...HIS BATTERED BODY...HIS SAD EYES...I WANTED TO GET WHOEVER DID THIS AND WELL U KNOW...BUT AS THEY SAY HAPPINESS IS THE BEST REVENGE,,,AND I AM SO GLAD U HAVE THE GOOD LIFE NOW DUKE...NOTHING BEATS THIS ( WELL MAYBE A LITTLE REVENGE FOR THE ABUSERS WOULD STILL BE OK.)...XXX
