@welderman27 We can wish, but 200 proof is "chemically pure". Without a thumper you'd have to dump the first little bit that carries the cooler evaporating compounds (like methanol -gives you headaches and sometimes blinds you) then stop right before you're full-finished to keep the water out. Learned that from my stepdaddy in 1967, who learned it from a couple friends on Kimish mountain.

@altoids18ROX it doubler or thumper douible the proof in one run now if you have two thump kegs it would then tripple the strength in one run and so on

Its also called a doubler; it helps filter the product and make it smoother & cleaner, & much stronger. It has 'backins' in it, the under 70 proof liquor that comes off at the end of a run. From what I understand the steam percolates through the backins in the thump keg before it heads on up to the worm or condenser. Some of these pros will correct me if I' wrong about any of this...
