Woman left to die on hospital floor

A middle-aged woman was left to die on a hospital floor for an hour while staff ignored her plight.

Video from a surveillance camera at a hospital shows the 49-year-old in a Brooklyn psychiatric emergency-room.

The video was released by lawyers suing Kings County Hospital alleging neglect and abuse of mental health patients at the facility.

The video shows the woman keeling over and falling out out of her chair and lying face down on the floor, then thrashing before going still. About an hour passed before someone realised what was happening and tried to help.

The agency that runs the municipal hospital fired several staff after the incident emerged.

How HUMANE of those people to pass the woman by. It is very HUMAN to be selfish, and so I call HUMANE that which is EVIL, as opposed to the absurd definition of "humane" as "caring and altruistic." People can be both wicked and good, so a term that has HUMAN as it's very essence needs to reflect that.

The workers who were there and refused to help this women in time should have been arrested and should never be allowed to work in this kind of facility ever again.Unfortunately unnecesary neglect and types of abuse are still occuring all over the place.Most are not brought to the media and/or are covered up for.
