Ethiopian Eritrean war: Over 150,000 Eritreans killed part II

The Ethiopian armed forces in a show of force blasted past Eritrean defences on at least 5 fronts, and sent residents of Eritrea fleeing in a mass panic. The scale of Eritrea's defeat was evident after their leader Issaias Afeworke, after learning about the horrible massacre of his troops on the Badme front, apparently made a late night phone call to UN secretary General Kofi Annan to notify him of Eritrea accepting the peace deal it had rejected only weeks prior. Ethiopian soldiers with a coordinated pincer movement surprised the Eritrean defenders, who after initially resisting, fell into full retreat as the might and force of the Ethiopian army was too much to bear. An estimate 30,000 Eritrean soldiers were either killed or wounded between February 22nd and February 26th 1999.

Having dislodged the Eritrean invaders, the jubiliant heroic Ethiopian soldiers played the Ethiopian National Anthem while raising their flag in the middle of Badme for all to see.
