Creeking Kayaking at ZeYa in SE China

I visited ZeYa last October on a hiking trip. There was almost no water then and I could only dream what it must look like. I finally made the trip back this past Sunday (6/15/08) and had low expectations on account of the little rain we've had. Fortunately it was well beyond expectation. It's been 11 months since I've run anything harder than Class II. I was thrilled to find this playground just over an hour from my home in Wenzhou, China.

Since I didn't have my experienced pals there watching over my back, I shot video of these tougher rapids and didn't run them. As I build some friendships here and build confidence in their rope and rescue skills (and if more people bring cameras) I might run it in the future and not wait for ya'll to come play. :)
