Explains MAF sensor diagnostic & operation. Modern MAF sensors employ a hot Platinum wire with specific circuitry to measure its current as it cools down due to incoming air. Learn how these components work. They're found in every vehicle today. Understand its operation and how to test it here. • is this robot voice?

  • @AdamKays Yes... I invite to check "Stories from the Road" our new series... Thanks for posting...

  • poor quality air filters can effect maf hot wire type sensors.

filter paper/materials enter the maf and can become lodged on the wire, best way to remove them is with a cotton bud.

be gentle and light with them, dont use sprays, they contaminate the wire.

  • @foxdmulder A good tip is to use a special electronic cleaner sold at Radio Shack, which has a built-in fine bristle brush at the top. For some reason this cleaning fluid is the best for MAF element cleaning. Good post from foxdmulder, I agree with all of it. Good luck to all.

  • i removed the neck on the intake box to get more air but it seems the censor sees all the extra air and now it run rich

  • @gstak07 That's a great idea since most air filters do leave behind a fiber particles. Thanks for posting...

  • @Bushougoma CRC works and they recommend you to clean your maf every time after you clean or change your air filter

  • Thanks. Great vids. Would be great to have an actual person speaking. it gets really anoying

  • I got your "hot wire".

  • @foxdmulder CRC makes a specialty spray especially for cleaning MAF sensors it leaves zero residue. It's much safer than wiping with a piece of cotton which will leave strands of cotton fiber behind which IS a contaminant.
