Patrick Schwerdtfeger discusses Twitter and the third party application called Tweetdeck. Tweetdeck allows you to group your followers and organize your Twitter existence. Patrick has a group for "gurus", one for "personal" and one for "interactive". The interactive group contains all the people who have been interactive with past tweets. Those are the most important people.

This video was recorded on August 15, 2009 in Berkeley, CA. It was part of a full-day workshop entitled Social Media Victories Real Businesses, Real Campaigns, Real Results which focused on how entrepreneurs, small business owners and self-employed service professionals can leverage Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube to grow their businesses.

Patrick is the author of Webify Your Business Internet Marketing Secrets for the Self-Employed (2009) as well as Make Yourself Useful Marketing in the 21st Century (2008). You can purchase the latest book on Amazon but you can also get it for free at the following website.

By subscribing, you will receive one chapter via email each week for a year. You should know that the book also includes 6 chapters that are not in the email course and the book also has a step-by-step action guide at the end of each chapter. The email course does not have those itemized to-do lists.

This video is about being smart with your Twitter following. When you have a large number of followers, you can rest assured that most of them are not being interactive with you. By isolating the interactive followers, you are isolating the most valuable segment of your audience. You can then focus your interaction with them, knowing they are more likely to respond. Tweetdeck is a great platform to organize your audience along these terms.

Patrick is a sought-after professional speaker who has spoken in Canada, the United States, Europe and South America. He speaks about leadership on todays social internet, small business marketing and the opportunities of our changing information economy. Call 510-282-4115 to inquire about speaking fees and scheduling.
