Boston Teachers Union TV-Cable ads on class size are up and running. The ad began on 2/3/07 and will be running through 2/15/07. Altogether the ad will run more than 500 times on 20+ Boston cable stations. The ad will run in Spanish as well. Reviews of the ad have been terrific.

The School Committee isn't trying to increase 'class' size, they are trying to cut cost's and the Teachers union will not let them! Ask what the last teachers pay and benefit package INCREASE, that's right increase, in this economy was. How is it the teachers that are paid from the people of the communities around them are making 25% or higher wages and benefits then the people paying them?

Why is it they can pay into their retirement the money you are paying into Social Security? Check it out!

I think its interesting how the top performing school systems in the world are doing it without unionized teachers and with higher student teacher ratios than the US. I respect teachers. I had some good ones in school. I went to college and had to sit in classrooms as big as gymnasiums with about 500 other students. I learned as much there as I did in the smaller classrooms with 20 students.
