@simplifiedmoneyplan Could just be the Vox. They're great sounding amps, don't get me wrong, but they're not the friendliest pedal platform. We had one in for a while when I worked at a music store. I'd regularly try out drive pedals through a bunch of the amps in the store. The AC15 just did not cooperate with very many drive pedals I put in front of it compared to a lot of amps out there. Can't tell you why, but that's my personal experience.

@simplifiedmoneyplan Maybe it could depend on guitar pickups and peculiarities and amp!

I have a trimode and it sounds horrible. It sucks the tone out of my Vox AC 15. the drive knob should be labeled the "harsh" knob. I never get bluesy tones like that. It just sort of fizzles and dies. I am beginning to wonder if the tube in mine is shot or something. It has never sounded like this one though, that is for sure.

Ah My old Nemesis, 240p!!!!

Is the breathing sound the trimode or youtube squash.

@jpjdo1212 Well, they are both are very very good sounding pedals. I bought tonebone only because guys in the shop told me that you can't really change the tubes inside Seymour Duncan by yourself. I have no idea if they have changed it but the first devices did have this problem. And it seems like tonebone is slightly more versatile.

@jpjdo1212 I have the Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classic on my board instead of the Radial. Don't get me wrong the Radial is awesome, however I find with all the switches and gadgets I get ¨Tweek Envy¨ and find myself playing around constantly with my tone. I'm old school, rhythm tone, lead tone done. The Duncan IMHO has been tweeked perfectly (it's Seymour Duncan man!) and I don't need a boost pedal for leads! They are both good, I just find you can save a few bucks and get a rockin monster.

is this an equal match to the seymour duncan Twin tube classic?? which one do you guys think is better?? thanks

@CPyrnstein I have an old tube pre that also lights up green during bypass. You get used to it.

@robert13camus The '70's sound' as you put it will never be over because that era produced some of the best guitar tones ever.
The instruments used were mainly from the late fifties to mid sixties as were the amps, plus you had to be able to play to get a gig unlike most tossers out there now!
in my opinion this is the best overdrive.. :)
