I had fairly high hopes for us this season despite our personnel losses, but I drastically underestimated the impact of the OC position regardless of our talent on the field. Honestly, Coach Bates has become way too predictable and simplistic in his play-calling, it was obvious vs OSU (I still have no idea how we pulled that game out with the 3 quarters of inept play selection) and it ultimately cost us against a much-improved but what still should've been an overmatched Washington team.

I completely agree, I know Aaron Corp had a very very poor performance, but Bates' sophomoric play calling only exasperated the situation. Instead of throwing screens or short passes to get Corp comfortable, he proceed to try and shove the run game down UDub's collective throats (which worked on the 1st drive but not much thereafter). That resulted in Corp trying to force the ball in obvious passing situations, where they would blitz and he would throw immediately, often into coverage.

Aside from the turnovers, QB play, bad clock mgmt did anyone notice our guys slipped way too much on that shity turf?
