The reaction D+T gives He +n This neutron is necessary to fission a Li 6 -> He + T. A (One) Tritium is produced and recycled from the lithium blanket to feed the reaction. Hence, all neutrons from the fusion reaction have to be captured. Otherwise, good old fission is needed.
