  • How superficial. Way to avoid thinking. Way to prove her point! Image is not more important than heart, mind, and soul. You're not helping.

  • Amy makes many good points, even thought we might disagree on some or many issues but we must stand together. Help our nighbers, and do good, spreed love. What makes USA a great nation is it's people. I am Muslim and i might disagree with another Muslim and agree with a Christian or a Jew. Love people but I do not like ignorant and dishonest and extrem Muslim, Christian, or Jew. My friends are good people no matter where they are from, what color they are or faith they follow. Peace

  • @The3dphotoartist like when she defended those black monsters that almost beat that kid to death.. what kind of monster are you

  • she cant silence the truth I will expose her !!!

  • @rachelgolem i can't speak for ms. goodman (i find that a bit presumptuous) but i would want my children to grow up in freedom rather than a big prison.

that's somewhat of a problem with our society - the people who are most likely to have children are often the ones with questionable moral values (conformity, comfortability and security above individualism, compassion and freedom) and no critical mind whatsoever.

  • Thank God for Ms Goodman! She is a very needed voice fighting for all of our rights.

  • ok, be cynical all you want.

Trust has no political color but is, well, humanist. ...that's what Berkeley taught me...(joking) :)

  • Trust... huh your not one of those conservatives that base everything on emotion are you?

  • Yeah, it is not the point.

The point for me is that I trust Amy and Juan.

I am not saying the reporting is always flawless, there are practical constraints, such as time, but I am pretty convinced within reason they do everything to deliver as much a transparent and valid broadcast as possible.

  • I don't think that you're summarizing DN's point of view accurately. I think their point of view is that when journalism is funded by advertising, there are often strings attached which effect the reporting.

Your evidence isn't very compelling either: in your copypaste, DN mentions "and foundations". I hope we can agree that the Ford Foundation is a foundation.

Is DN the shining beacon of perfect journalistic integrity? No. But it's a hell of a lot better than any of the garbage on TV.

  • Your missing the point. DN is saying that corporate dollars and corporate funding effects journalism. But they take corporate dollars.

    from DN

Democracy Now! is funded entirely through contributions from listeners, viewers, and foundations. We do not accept advertisers, corporate underwriting, or government funding. This allows us to maintain our independence.

Just do a Wikipedia search it shows that they received funding for the Ford Foundation and ITT So they lie to their viewers.
