  • I hadn't seen this skit in years yet it's popped up in my head from time to time since then. It's catchy AND positive as only these shows from what I like to call the Golden Age of Public Television could do! I'm talking about Electric Company, Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and Zoom. Thumbs up if you agree!!

  • @CapHusky 'Didn't, haven't, don't, isn't' - yes, now go away! Only kidding!

  • Definitely Season 2 (1972-73). Anytime you see Lee Chamberlin and Jim Boyd (or Luis Avalos) together on screen, it's most certainly S2.

  • @osowoofy Also on Hulu on Episode 91A (from the 75-76 season).

  • why is she so snotty to that guy, Jim Boyd is so adorable by the way in this :)

  • Yes!! The power of positive thinking!

  • @CapHusky Yes, that was him as Johnny Charge...lol...I'd forgotten all about that.....lol

  • These two characters are exactly myself and a certain lady during a certain time each month... I'll have to show her this vid (and then run for my life!)

  • Absolutely my favorite. I sing it to myself even today, and I grew up in the 70s.

Girls can be grouchy, esp grounded little girls.

I think I know why you know this, check some of the other comments. Lehrer's original version did feature a grumpy male voice (that sounded like it was in a cave), kind of a sad voice, for all its sulkiness.

Maybe the little girl here is the Grouchy Voice's daughter, they both seem to want to hide, and both willing to listen.

  • @hoopersghost the song was actually written to be sung by a grouch. why i know that? i have no clue but its a fact..so good call, you have entered the mind of tom lehrer
