your desktop is very disorganized why should we listen to your rants on the system when the problems arnt really problems their just different ways to do it. you can switch to GNOME 2, its pretty easy. you have to do it in the terminal just look it up.
you must have a slow computer. did you run windows on that same computer? it goes WAY faster on my computer
honestly if you dont like it why dont you actually learn something about computers and get it the way you want it, it's OPENSOURCE!!!
ubuntu has suck since 9.04 to now i know i been testing it for on and off 6 years and it hasn't got any better to the point i switch archlinux and install kde4.8 which rocks setting up was the only hard part but once up and config you don't have to do very much but customize it to death so much fun!
@LordMMX66MHz true, very true..I'm not a BSD user but I know it's really powerful OS..yea going back to what i was saying..I'm confused to on what distro to use..for the last year I've been jumping to distro to distro..and not being satisfied so far..right now i'm using Xubuntu 11.10...lets see how i feel with this one..
just go use opensuse or pure debian...xfce or LXDE...some ppl hate change cause they don't know how to evolve they only know how to stay stationary...there many other Ubuntu like distros that are still using gnome 2.xxx try using Enlightment..use Bodi linux 1.3..works awesome..
