  • what do you mean last little bit of timber on the west coast? 0:35

  • I'll tell you what I mean. I've been falling on the BC coast since '78. This clip is in the Mahatta River area. In the past thirty years it's been stripped clean. The term that's widely used in the industry to refer to what's left of the old growth timber is "guts and feathers". The good news is that in less than a hundred years (if they can keep those damn feller-bunchers away), there'll be some nice stands of second growth for hand-falling.

  • Was that Dave Killian?

  • nope, the Nasby brothers.

  • where do you from bill?

  • Vancouver Island (Sointula)

  • Just showed your niece what her Uncles do. Her response was "cool". She asked alot of questions and wondered why I didn't do that? I told her that someone has to export the finished product. Keep me busy Brother.

  • hey Bill, I left my number with Mr. Rosser

  • Nice stick of wood alright. However, dangerous cutting on the fallers part. Its plain to see he cut a dutchman. Cut off all the holding wood on the farside.

  • oh ok. I work in Southern Ont with hardwoods and it is mostly done cut and skid..there are a few small bunchers trying to start working in the hardwoods but in selection harvesting they make more of a mess.
