  • Do I need to play with the stock head? I was told that Remo only made the head specific to this Snare. is this true?

  • @zabuza182 No you could use any head you chose for this drum.

  • @DeadlyNinjaDrummer any snare in high tuning sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me... if you want a popcorn snare, buy one... haha

  • @imdarrellkth w/e bro nails on a chalkboard sounds nothing like that...shitty comparison imo, but whatever floats ur boat. personally i like snares to be higher tuned just cause thats how the fuckin need to be ya feel me

  • I was in love with this snare and was just about to order it... Then I found the Mapex Black Panther "Machete" which now rests at my snare stand!

  • @josshlegg I don't even know why I'm explaining this to you, but it wasn't my patience that was the problem. I have satellite internet, and it takes a pretty long time to load 40 seconds of him saying what he could have just typed in the description section. So, like I said, you don't even know me, mate.

  • @Eddywars the resonant head should be as tight as it can go, and even tighter! that will give you a really nice sound for metal, trust me. You may need to adjust the snare wires though once you tune your reso head this way.

Good luck, hope i helped :)

  • That finish... Drool

  • @zundappa - Mapex has a couple of different ratios in the Black Panther line, most commonly 1:9 and 5:5. It is a bit confusing, but does not have anything to do with the angle of the edge, but rather where the contact point (where the edge contacts the head) is located. On the 1:9 shells, the contact point is on the very outermost portion of the shell/edge, where as on the 5:5, the contact point is in the middle of the shell / edge.

  • Hi, I bought one Phat bob, and i liked the low tension, any tune tips you can share to achieve that?

How stretched needs to be the reasonent head compared to the batter? (I also want to go for Metal/Rock)

    Thanks for reading

  • high tuning on this thing is fuckin beautifull
