Thanks my friend! It'll take me a while to get it down as good as you but hopefully I'll get there. You've got some fans here in Ky, my friends and I like the song but love your version and especially your picking!! Keep em coming brother!!! Thanks again:)

  • @FlatLickWildcat Hi, of course you will get there!! Try to play it as slow as you can till those eight bars will flow naturally and repeat and repeat the passages where you find more difficults always at slow tempo. Forget the speed of the original recording or my own tempo , just play every bar very slow and then put all of them togheter and then you will see that soon or later you will play it effortless!!

    All the best

  • Fucking brilliant. Willie still lives, not because of some Allman Brothers butchery, but because of this type of awesome cover.

  • @belikewater001 Thanks ,glad you like this cover!

  • Can you please give me the chords or tabs to this song. I'm dying to learn it and I'm having a hard time. Your fret board is dark in this video. Please please send this to me. I'll owe you one. Thank you.

  • @FlatLickWildcat I've learned

this from the great Ernie Hawkins dvd

the guitar of Blind Willie McTell.

Chords are E and B at the fourth fret, first 2 bar, then A,third and fourth bar with a walking bass on the fifth string to the E chord again at the fourth fret, then the 6bar has C#7 for the first two beat and B7

third and four beat , 7 bar E this time in first position with a run on the first three strings then 8 bar againE with an hammer

    on with the third string.

  • brilliant! just started listening to blind willie mctell. In sweden where im from, this kind of musik is harder to come by!

  • @blueskyearth Thanks for the quick response! I'll get this song down in a jiffy! Unfortunately, I don't really know how to sing while playing, so I'll need some practice.

  • @blueskyearth you did a really good job explaining how to play the song, but the only part I'm having trouble learning to play now is the final run on bar 7. could you tell it to me please?
