Alaska Railroad July 2010

This was our second trip to Alaska. We cruised last time, which exceeded expectations. But this time around we wanted to experience the real Alaska as much as possible.

We booked this trip primarily through the Alaskan Railroad. I highly recommend it, regardless if this is your first or subsequent trip to the 49th state.

Personal thoughts: (I'm not connected with the RR)

DO NOT take the cruise line cars. You're in Alaska.
BOOK "Adventure Class" instead of Gold Class. (Meet real Alaskans)

@kksd2 Thanks, it's THE best way to travel/see Alaska. By far the best scenery was the trip to Whittier (even with the rainy weather) and then just north of Denali.
