Dreams in Flight by La Fura dels Baus (Spain)

The Singapore Arts Festival 2007 opened at the Padang on 25 May with a majestic wheel of red and golden light allevated behind a shadow cube, seemingly like the rising sun.

The awe-inspiring production conceived by multi-award winning Spanish arts company La Fura dels Baus, involved for the first time 36 volunteers from the public, coming from different nationalities, ages and walks of life. This 10 minute segment did not involve any professional performers, entirely made up of volunteers who were given only 2 days of training that saw them suspending 40 metres above ground as part of a gigantic human net performing what can only be described as an "aerial ballet".

The multi-sensory theatrical experience entitled Dreams in Flight is a 45 minute outdoor performance specially commissioned by the Festival which culminated in a pyrotechnic display.

So let your dreams take flight.

Catch this free performance on Sat 26 May and Sun 27 May, 8pm at the Padang.
