RIP, EIGRP both have default auto summary . Rip needs hop counts as metric. EIGRP needs bandwidth & delay as default. By default, EIGRP does not use reliability and load in its metric calculation. but, formula is EIGRP Metric = 256*((K1*Bw) + (K2*Bw)/(256-Load) + (K3*Delay) + (K5/(Reliability + K4))).... metric, sometime use as feasible distance in DUAL. feasible successor is from the loop free back up path to ame destination route of the neighbor's successor. (successor is 1st, feasible successor is second). feasible successor and its metric which is feasible condition. Reported distance is feasible distance which will become winner for Eigrp metric, it is also LOWEST CALCULATED METRIC. MTU is just mechanism to support metric and bandwidth. "bandwidth command" can't change the physical bandwidth, it is only to modify the bandwidth metric.
