  • I fully support gun control and I'm against all military conflict unless its UN peacekeeping. I play military video games and, while I don't own any guns, have a geeky interest in weaponry. I enjoy these things in the fictional sense; but I abhor these tools of death in real life. But like many people, I have the mental fortitude and maturity to know what's fantasy, and what is the horrific truth of real violence and war. Unfortunately, some kids don't mature when they grow up.

  • The Daily Show had a moment of Zen the other day showing a lovely opportunity for parents to get a picture of their children with Santa Claus.

While the kids carried the gun of their choice.

And then they could fire the guns.

    Children.

    Appropriate song is appropriate.

Did I mention that the moment of Zen was showing a clip from Fox "News"? I forgot to mention it at first because it's so freaking obvious that they'd show it, wouldn't they? Kids and guns. "War on Christmas" alright.

  • maby christions should lock in load! The jews want us to just work for nothing well there the ceo makeing lots of bucks.

  • Hello Roy. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your craft. The social commentary that your songs put forth are so very important in waking people up to their contradictory actions. I hope that one day you will be recognized alongside Guthrie, Ochs and the like for what you have contributed. It means a lot to me to see someone trying to raise attention to such crucial issues in a time where so many "artists" are nothing of the sort.

  • Poop.

  • Now those same war toys would at least be appropriate for Chanukah....commemoration of a military victory!!!!

  • Awesome! I'm adding this to the Coventry Carol and I Wonder As I Wander for this year's setlist.

  • Please make a song about Herman Cain. Please. Please. xD

  • @Etimos

Bonobos are matriarchal, and they have a high oxytocin response which is triggered by the sexuality they use for social bonding. Bonobos, like humans, have sex whether or not the female can possibly get pregnant, they kiss and have sex face-to-face. Things like leg length, their scalp hair, etc. make them more humanlike than the common chimps. There's too much to list here... Just search for bonobos on TED talks and Wikipedia or something.

  • @Keovar I dont know where you get your facts, but I'm fairly certain humans have always been patriarchal, and in fact most apes are. Your choice of Bonobos as your example is a bit odd, as the other four great apes (gorillas, chimps, etc) are patriarchal. As for what a matriarchal society would look like, apart from the gender of the leaders, there's actually little difference in chimp versus bonobo society, except of course for their hyper-sexuality, I suppose.

  • @Topmonhit

Patriarchy began with the agricultural revolution about 10k years ago, which is only 5% of the time that h.s.sapiens has existed. Look at some of our closest evolutionary cousins, the bonobos (look for TED talks on them), and you can get an idea of what a matriarchal culture could look like.

  • Buy A Gun For Your Son! (I assume you where inspired by this song?)
