I am Jewish but I choke up whenI hear this beautiful, evocative tune so beautifully sung by Johnny Mathis. I think of when my mother would take me to NYC where we would have lunch at Chock Full of Nuts and then look at the store windows and the displays. It was a better time back then. We all were struck by Christmas time in the city. Yes, my family celebrated Hannukah but we appreaciated that it was Christmas time, not "holiday" time in the city and those days were magical to me.

When ever im in Philly or NYC i turn on this song and no matter how cold it is, i always roll down my windows in the car to see the beautiful lights and to get into the spirit of Christmas! <3 i love the city during christmas time <3
