Parks Canada is taking an innovative approach to rebuild the natural wariness among habituated mule deer in Waterton Lakes National Park. This video follows specially-trained border collies as they shepherd these deer out of the community.

Oh PLEASE!! I have lived in Waterton Park for 45 years. The deer only get aggressive when they have little ones to protect and are naturally threatened by the visitors dogs!! We have encroached on their natural environment and when they come into our sweet little town to safely have their fawns away from the cougars and bears we sig park dogs on them so there is no safe place to birth. Are we friends of nature or enemies? Why not ban dogs from the park and leave the poor deer alone? Hmmmm

    Mmhmm, so I've heard.

I've heard of some problems like this up north in Ontario before, sometimes it's even bears that are a problem.

    Nature doesn't fuck around.

Over population is a big problem in some areas so you see them everywhere. I am from Maine and we have some problems on a few islands, also heard that Pennsylvania has those small deer that are so bad they are everywhere. As sad as it is they need to go back into the woods where they are thinned out by strongest survival as well as making a meal for other animals. Natures way .

Countdown to people who've never lived anywhere but the city posting about how it's sad that the deer get driven away. Louis CK said it best - deer are basically rats with hooves, they're pests that wreck gardens and shit everywhere.
