i dont think the variation and sound isn't a defect at all. it seems like a totally appropriate transition in mood and atmosphere from one part of the song to the next. its as beautiful and moving as anything he's put on film. I'm so glad he decided to do this.

@isotopicburns The vocals get lower too. Is there any official word from Sunday's Best or Lynch on this? I know the album has lots of variations in sound, but this just comes across to my ears as an error in mixing or mastering.

Is the sound level supposed to drop around 2:25? My CD does this too. It could've been on purpose, but I wish they hadn't done that. It comes across sounding like a defect in the mastering process.
