Hell yeah!!! Who would have thought to burn trees so we can use their ashes to grow more trees
-
Yea cool production here... it the DARK EARTH REVOLUTION !!! All we need to do is bring this to the fore, and claim our right to eternity !!

I added biochar, hydroton pellets, bokashi and compost worms to the soil of my small garden. The clay rich soil has become very light and the plants' roots can now penetrate the soil very well. The plants are growing a lot better and become very huge compared to before. =)
TERRA PRETA ROCKS!

Has anyone tried to add biochar to compost and worm castings (and add some bloodmeal, which worms absolutely love)?
I think the results would be fantastic.

Good work-will try to do myself.

who needs instructions for how to do this? burn small diameter wood and hose out the fire when it is all burned down to coal. till into soil. there I just saved everyone the money they would have wasted on this.

Other the hype it is hard to find information on this stuff. Lets say you take garden waste and make "Biochar" and apply it to your garden. Someone else takes that same waste and composts it and applies that to there garden. Is one product actually superior to the other from a fertility stand point or is this all about the carbon cycle?

Best way 2 make biochar is 2 havest the syngas while you make it not just burn a pile of wood wasting the gas.

Two years later, where is the video HOW TO MAKE GARDEN BIOCHAR?
I've made a lot of it but there is always more to learn.
Good gardening

We have hit some glitches in the video, but I will plug along. Thanks for your intrest. Some senators have shown intrest in what I am doing and we have been working on government grants to really get this new/old technology up and running. I think it will change the way we do business in the future. Keep posted. Thanks Greenjack.

Awesome video!
Can autumn leaves be used to make biochar? In my small yard I have a 2+ meter tall pile of leaves that I would love to turn into biochar for my clay garden soil.

Spread newspaper or I like to use the paper grocery bags on your garden area, put the leaves on top of the paper, and grass clipping on the leaves, wet it down, and let it sit until the video comes out. Gather organic waste wood like sticks, and prunnings. You will be ready to go by next spring.
