  • I understand it's fervor for hardcore libertarians to bash even the tea partiers, but really, TEA stands of "Taxed Enough Already".

Perhaps the people who make up that movement hold some other positions you don't approve of, but the issues they're all coming together on are primarily fiscal, and the only libertarian criticism I can think of is that they don't go far enough on this issue they came together on.

They're kinda dumb, but they happen to be correct and are a mostly positive force.

  • Where would you place all of those workers when the USSR fell? It was certainly rough at first, but the grand nexus of interactions recalibrates. Kids can go get real jobs. For most people, all that is needed is they can read, write and do basic math.

Full-on 12-year schooling is only worthwhile for the smart fraction, maybe the top 10% - whatever percentage gets a positive ROI, that's the people who will get schooling somehow on a total market.

Tell me how much do your grades from grade 4-8 have to do with college? "Who cares if they are being taught the bible?" The fact that you dont mention their scores on history and science both of which heavily conflict with what theyre taught in a christian school. Did you think about what you were writing here?

The FACTS are that the same people who want to defund the public school system are supporters of christian indoctrination in schools and you are their unwitting accomplice.

  • @ZhugeNaut Based on an external performance evaluation survey, comparing private schools (moslty Christian) to public schools, the U.S. Government reported that the private school students score higher on average than public school students in math and reading thru grades 4 & 8 (I have the link). Who cares if they are being taught the Bible if that is what their parents want? It is preposterous to think that the state can choose education standards better than parents, and the data shows this.

  • @ZhugeNaut What?? I never gave an amount I paid that went directly to schools, whether or not it all goes to the government is irrelevant. What is relevant is the amount that is spent per student, which is about $11,500 for the national average (I can give you a link if you want it). Obviously I don't pay that much, but then again I only make about $40k per year, and over the course of my life I will certainly have to pay far more than was spent on me, not to mention what my parents's have paid.

A disgrace? Maybe your school was a disgrace but if you believe that you can escape the indoctrination then obviously....there must have been others. Have you wondered if maybe...you didnt escape? Maybe your escape was really the trap.

Most of the private schools in this country are Catholic and Christian. It doesnt surprise me that the fundies usually want to defund public school.

How valid is the avg grade at those schools when one is graded on their knowledge of the bible?

  • @LifeIsPietzsche

i think you missed the point of my question. You said you paid 2000 in property taxes. Ok. How much of those 2000 dollars that you pay in property taxes goes to school?

Sales taxes go to business'. They do go to your government through the business but you dont pay them to your govt a business does. It is legal for them to pass the cost on to you.

It seems like symantecs but the number that you pay in sales taxes is not what the govt gets its always less.

    Credits,Accounting etc

  • @ZhugeNaut I went to a public high school for 4 years, I pay about $2k in property taxes per year, plus state and local sales taxes that pay for public school I am also subjected to. I graduated high school with honors and I was amazed at how easy of a work load it was, I coasted through school and was still in the top 10%. This is a disgrace when public schools spend far more per student than private schools that are accountable to parents, that allow parents to teach things that parents want.

  • Answered the second question for me.

I went to private school til I was 12 and public school the last 4.

You have some interesting views on schools. The public school I went to the education was layered. If you were gifted or just studious you could go to the AP classes.

I am going to venture to guess you didnt have any of those. What do you mean you escaped school? Did you drop out?

  • tell me...how much did you pay personally for pubic school this year?

Secondly....did you go to public school? Thanks.

  • @Tsicar

Thanks for the appropriate ad hominem and nonsensical reply.

It's really fucking pathetic that the thing that brings me back to this channel is the garbage you've just given me.
