Delegate Christensen Protect Seniors Campaign House Session Address AARP VI Petitions

On July, 25, 2011 AARP VI advocates, volunteers, State Director Denyce Singleton and State President Dr. Paul Simmonds met in St. Croix with the Legislative Staff of VI Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen. The Delegate spoke with group by phone from her D.C. office and thanked volunteers for delivering the over 200 petitions which urged Congressional members to oppose harmful cuts to Medicare and Social Security. Volunteers reminded the Delegate that Americans worked to contribute to these two programs throughout their careers and therefore these programs shouldn't be part of any deal to reduce the deficit.
