@scottwill19 I don't cheer for the Russians when they're playing the States. I cheer for injuries haha.
Canadians see Sweden as a similar country with a similar sports passion who play the game similarly. Russians are the 'others'. Play the game different, different society, decades of extremely heated rivalry. Canada would never cheer for Russia (maybe after a game, or before. But NEVER during)

That's right grand son of legendary vladislav tretyak

They take itvery serious the Russians do, they have the same mindset as Canada. Gold or nothing you see Russians didn't even want to wear it. In Sweden there youngsters get to play professionally and developed through in game pro leagues, In Russia now there is a 16 year old goalie I want to see in world juniors. Maxim tretyak

Canada is officially starting to fall behind in hockey last 3 years lost to USA and got silver, lost to Russia, Canada silver again, this year our worst performance ever a bronze medal. Right now in Canada 1 in 3 family can't afford hockey, the ones who can afford goes through an excellent training program, hockey Canada. I seen Russian tv they got a good program too

@funowning dude you are stupid. Canada hates russia in hockey. Canada loves sweden (except for when we are playing them of course). The only way canada cheers for russia is if they are playing the states. So fuck you retard.

an epic gold medal game ended on an epic goal

@funowning thats partly the reason. dont forget. sweden and canada are close allies and support one another very much. besides most of the action was from sweden

As a Swede-Canadian I was moved by the Canadian fans support. It was great hearing the crowds cheer for Sweden.
