(Continued). Saying that implies that you are comparing him with the person who invented cricket, so stop backpeddaling now. The fact that you list wicket-keeper as your response in an argument about good fields speak volumes on your ignorance. McCullum is an excellent keeper, and yes it requires great athleticism but we cannot compare him with fielders who stop and snatch the ball without any gloves. You gotta be kidding me.
You're so hell-bent on proving me wrong that you would spill out false information and try to convince yourself it's the truth. Sinclair is still part of the New Zealand's odi side, and called upon for test matches every now and the, and still continues to play domestic cricket quite often. Saying Ponting has been fielding like shit lately is a matter of opinion and that statement holds no weight. You said that if it wasn't for person who invented cricket he wouldn't be known (cont)
Sinclair dosnt play for new zealand anymore shows what vague knowledge you have of this game. Ponting has been feilding like shit lately. Please get the information right. Did i say he invented cricket? Nop. Who said you were placing him in comparison with others.
Define gracefully please
And also Have you seen some of Mccullums catches? Far Superior to any other keeper around. Though sangakara is better up to the stumps. Obviously you do not have enough experience and knowledge of the game.
I never said he invented cricket, and I'm not placing him on the comparison level with the greats invented the game. However, can you honestly think of any cricket player who fielded well and made fielding look good before Rhodes came along? Did anyone dive to stop balls, snatch catches, run batsmen out, as gracefully and intensely as Jonty did? The fact that you didn't mention Ponting and Sinclair shows what vague knowledge you have of this game.
He revolutionized it but did not invent the art of fielding. And if it wasn't for person that invented cricket, then Jonty wouldn't be even known .Taylor, Guptil, Hussy, Clarke, Mccullum are just some examples off the top of my head.
I knew some wise-ass would comment in such a manner, that's why I clearly said they invented the art of fielding and revolutionized it. read carefully before you rush your response. If it wasn't for Jonty, run-outs wouldn't be as common as they are now-a-days. Gibbs and DeVilliers way not be as legendary as Rhodes but still amongst the elite. Name 3 good fields from top of your head from Aus and NZ, who performs on constant basis.
Haha, Sure so They "Invented" fielding? So they must of been the people to "Invent" cricket then am i correct? Sure Jonty was the best fielder of the era and changed fielding, But that does not change the fact that SA only have 1 GOOD fielder at the moment, Maybe 2.
I'ma have to go with South Africa, who invented the art of fielding. Jonty Rhodes revolutionized fielding for the good of cricket and the rest followed.

Furthermore, with the exception of Clarke and Hussey, the names you mentioned are not by any chance elite when it comes to fielding.
