Composed by Spiro Cardamis http://spirosmusic.com.

New Millennium expresses the transition of mankind into a new era of enlightenment, an era of Transparency & Clarity, of Justice & Beauty, of Love & Peace.

It is characteristic that New Millennium ends with the main theme of Spiro's healing piece VOYAGE'89

Expressed & recorded on the spot by Spiro on Korg M1during that snowstormy blizard day in 1996 in Ridgefield NJ.

The first recording had just Spiro's synth strings. Later on the Greek Santouri was added by Yiannis Roussos as well as the vocalise by Julie Ziavras.
In 2002 it was sent to the Olympic committee in Athens Greece to be considered for the olympic games of 2004 yet the response was that the program had already been completed.

New Millennium will be part of Spiro's 3rd CD to be released in 2010.

The concert was given in Manhattan June 8 2004 at the SATALLA nite club in celebration & honor of the Hellenic Spirit (Olympic games 2004) by the group SPIRO CARDAMIS & DREAMBAND.

For that specific performance Spiro's playback synth strings were used so that he could conduct the piece.

  • Sprio: This video is beautifully done. I agree that this piece bears not similarity to any other piece I have heard or performed. It is a priviledge to perform this wonderful composition. Thank you for entrusting me with it. I look forward to hearing the album.

  • Julie ...I cannot thank you enough for this superb performance.More to come!!

  • And the whole effort just sounds like a piece Constance Demby would write as a filler in one of her albums. Good, competent -not brilliant. A lot of his stuff's like that - competent examples of the genres he goes for, but nothing original. How do I know this? I try to write music and that's EXACTLY the problem I have, so I sympathise with him. Competence is good, originality is WAY more difficult and that's where we both fall down!

  • Thank you for introducing me to Constance Demby .Her music has no similarity whatsoever with my New Millennium. Listened to 8-10 pieces of hers .Constance's music ls definitely peaceful & relaxing YET none of the pieces had the uplift ,the ascension, the emotional drive & the climaxes of New Millennium. Our harmonic vocabulary is RADICALLY different. Our Ideas though on the process of composing are very similar.

Sorry but it is apparent you lack substantial musical ears. Upload your music!!

  • Wow, I didn't know you were a conductor too!

  • Hi Debbie...Actually while at Eastman Music School for my MM degree(majoring in composition) back in the eighties I did take a year of Advanced conducting with David Effron ,conductor of the Eastman Philharmonia. Great experience ,wonderful conductor & instructor...Loved it.... Love it !!
