Haystacks would inadvertantly suffocate a wrestler if he so much as elbow dropped them or splashed them, Dynamite (I think it was him) said in his book that if he did one of those moves on you on the ground you'd panick as you couldn't get your breath back.

@BrickhouseB2 I'd assume that One Man Gang's original look (very similar to GS, as you point out) was based on Haystack Calhoun, the prototype for the name and gimmick of Giant Haystacks.
