@MagzHalo lol...

Interesting how a song that is almost twenty years old is somehow just as relevant today as it was back then (aside from the Dan Quayle reference).

Wow! This man can perform! <3

I think the people talking about it being from the point of view of a psychopath are off. Danny himself was frustrated with Danny Quayle and the moral panic of the time, I feel the song is essentially from HIS point of view. He's angry at all of it, and he's sarcastically inviting them to cure him, it's a very sardonic song, he's essentially saying it's all madness, and he's achieving catharsis by writing about these extreme emotions.
-
@elfojuice More accurately, I think it's not a psychopath per se, but an ignorant member of "the masses" whom the (fundamentalist) Christians believe they can cure.

THis song was inspired by the 1992 Dan Quayle "family values" election campaign. The song is actually sung from the point of view of a psychopath, who the Christians think they can "cure".
Each and every time I hear this song or see the video, I somehow feel emotionally ...... erect. Especially with the earplugs in ... Danny pounding his music fast and hard into my head. *cough* No double entendre here, folks. Not a bit. ;)
