Trumpeter and crossover artist JOE BURGSTALLER has performed and taught in 48 states, 21 countries and hundreds of cities throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, has performed and taught at over 70 universities, conservatories and colleges, made innumerable television and radio appearances, and has an extensive discography. He tours extensively as a soloist in recital and with orchestra and band, with the BurgstallerMartignon4, and as a teacher and clinician, traveling the world hundreds of days every year. Joe is a former member of Canadian Brass (7 1/2 years). Joe was also North Americas busiest trumpet recitalist at Columbia Artists Community Concerts, performing 60 solo concerts a year, and is also a former member of Meridian Arts Ensemble. He began the cornet at age six, by twelve was improvising jazz and soloing with area bands and at jazz clubs, and at fifteen was the youngest professional in the Virginia Opera Orchestra. Joe was awarded Arizona State University's Inaugural "Distinguished Alumnus Award" and the Inaugural "Outstanding Alumnus Award" from Eastern Music Festival. Mr. Burgstaller teaches at The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) and is in his second decade as a Yamaha Performing Artist.
Joe is so talented! I love listening to him, especially with the Canadian Brass. Joe and the guys put on such wonderful shows.
