We were lucky (for the 3rd year in a row) to have bluebirds nest in the box we put up at our cabin in Ice Mountain, Slanesville, WV. We put together this video of the bluebirds, eggs, newborn chicks and finally, the time they all left the nestbox. Contrary to what some may think, the bluebirds do not desert the box if they see a human near it, and in fact, monitoring the box is highly recommended for anyone who invites bluebirds to their backyard. The book that helped me the most, and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to put up a nestbox is "The Bluebird Monitor's Guide". You will still learn things on your own, but this book has been a real help to us.

Very well done and fascinating to watch. We missed having bluebirds last year. Going to have to put up more houses for them.

I've been teaching my 2 year old grandson about birds. This was the perfect video! Not just a shot of 1 bird, but from the eggs until the leaving of the nest. Thank you for taking the time to share this. It was very nicely done.
