Gravy Train's music is timeless. They were the epitome of everything that was, and still is, great about the British prog/hard rock scene. Norman Barratt's vocals and guitar style put him into a league of his own. I'm really very grateful and thankful that I was exposed to Gravy Train in the early 70's, as the band's music will stay with me until I go to the happy hunting grounds! Thanks for this, and all the other Gravy Train postings.

Am St helens lad of 53< was 16 when saw The Train at Theatre Royal in 74 or 75. too far back to remember but can anyone out there verify or explode the following? A carpet fitter we once employed claimed affinity with the Blessed Norm, and claimed that in a Corporate buy/sell out, all Gravy Train rights ended up, with Beatles stuff, in hands of Michael Jackson? Fab Four Boys' gravy on Michael Jackson's hands? I simply wont believe it . . .

@johnnysoundcraft If I am not mistaking, you are Norman Barratt's son. Could you help me find out the lyrics of "a ballad of a peaceful man". I can't hear the chorus clearly, and I really like the song. Thank you
