1. Install the Flex SDK from Adobe[dot]com
2. Evaluate your installation by writing a "hello world" type of AS3 script
3. Play with the optimized sparc marilena AS3 code (download from quasimondo[dot]com)
4. Do your own personalized Marilena demonstration, make it avalaible on YouTube
5. Get my source code and debug it
6. Agree or disagree that "the purpose of computing is not answers, but insight" [Edsger Dijkstra]
7. Have a lot of fun!

@piechulla1966 I think so.

My first guess is that the cause it a misconfiguration of your web browser. Does any other AS3 script get access to your webcam? For example, my TestYourWebcam.swf
-
It's not my processor; it's the program. It just doesn't get anything from my webcam. Although I know my webcam works, and I know Flash has recently detected my webcam, this program doesn't detect it.

AS3 is slow. So, it is not suited at all for things like facetracking. If you experience excessive processor load, this may be the cause of your problem. But I know next to nothing about the internals of the Flash Player's implementation. Please ask Adobe!

I click the link and click allow and it just stays on a black screen and doesn't respond.
Toooooooooooooooooo slow.

Yes, that's why it's crazy to do it with AS3. An alternative is project Alchemy. But the Alchemy toolchain is quite impressive, that is to say *complex*. Normally, you'd just use native code for your OS.

It's a tricky game. But completely useless, of course :-)
