Emg and Blackouts are uncoparable at ALL. They are totally different. First off: Emg uses Ceramic magnets and give that sound. While Seymour Duncan uses Alnico V bar on actives. Which have totally different tonal characteristics. Emg gives a better bass response, in opposite to Blackouts which have a lot better treble response. As EMG uses ceramic, it still has better crunch, and harmonics. But Blackouts have so much gain with Alnico V, it reduses the sound quality. EMG for riffs SD for solos.

@BoondockSaint10175 I have these on my Charvel and they are meatier and have more ouput than the EMG's on my Jackson. Totally impartal observation when switching guitars.

People say EMG's are better than Blackouts. One, they aren't. Just because EMG's have completely solderless technology doesn't mean they are better. Not to mention, I've never heard any EMG's getting Platinum awards from Guitar World, so...
