CHECK OUT THE LANDING!!! Tossed around by thermal columns trying to land. I havent seen this video yet, just uploading it and I bet it looks as sketchy as it felt!!! Almost my first landing. (A real good storm blew through town 40 min after landing! )

  • I didn't hear any ATC calls, is it I just can't hear them? or you don't need to? Please explain, im going to flight school next yer. Thanks.

  • @TheParsonsRS hi... the camera i use cant pick up the radio transmitions without hooking up a mic in my ear and also next to the mic on the headset i will try to set this up one day but i will have to buy my own headset befor i can do this....

so for the ATC comunication YES we are ALWAYS in comunication with the tower and other aircraft in the area but in my case at this point in flight training my flight instructor is handleing raido comunications and letting me focus on flying :-)

  • Still looking for a 2012 escape to the moon pilot...

  • @hughcronic I can get you into the air but we would need to hijack a UFO to make it to the moon :-(

If your really getting ready to run for your life 2012... and you think aircraft would be your ticket out try figureing out what kind of aircraft are parked in your area normaly and what kind of range they have also a good landing area within the flight range of your ideal aircraft.....or have some parachutes ready and just fly till the engine quits

  • Seemed like a low approach anyway... Like Eric said, come in high and slip. What would you do if the engine cut out?

  • @forumriderusa Crash I think...hence the name of my video. Im not trying to be a smart ass ether I am still confused about this aproch I was @1000ft AGL and my approch was still very long I started to add power but was advised to continue my decent (Im a student) so I did and this close call (as i see it) or at least sketchy situation was the result...scary stuff
