When was dream theater "intense" or really metal?, and if you mean Evenged gay-fold then im laughing at you, they are whiniest pop shit i've ever heard.

@metalmike83 Finesse?, well i dunno maybe, i still thin portnoys the most overrated drummer, badassary?, serious?, everthing he plays is the same, Bozzio and Peart are progerssive drummers, they do shit the others would never think of, Bozzio is very experimental and he did play for Zappa remember?, only zappa had the best musos, i dont think mike could touch on Dave either.

@metalmike83 Forget the size of Bozzios kit, its about what he plays!, Bozzio is a musician, the others are drummers, thats it and are you serious?, Portnoys boring as bat shit!, ive seen video of him being shown up by Ex DEATH drummer Richard christie and hes a Neanderthal in comparison!, get your ears checked!, and Peart was clearly kissing arse and being nice, hes such a humble guy, unlike that arrogant wank Weckl

@85Aheadstix I personally think Dave has the most finesse of any drummer alive. While Portnoy has power, badassary and raw intensity of metal and rock drumming which is coupled with his astounding creativity and culminates as a force of rock and metal drumming unto itself. Bozzio is a generalist who has some amazing grooves and independence and Neil has a fancy solo and not much else. What I wrote about Mike can be applied to Dave in regards to Jazz drumming.

@85Aheadstix Just because Bozzio's kit has the full capability of a piano doesn't mean it sounds anything like it. To the contrary, I find his playing incredibly annoying and wish he would use his talents on a much more standard kit. As far as Weckl is concerned, was it not Bozzio that commented on how beautifully he played? Wasn't it Neil that said "thanks for the lesson" after hearing Dave play? Dave's one of the finest drummers of all time. Portnoy is too, in his own genre.

@metalmike83 Pft!, hahahaha, What else does Weckly play beside boring jazz fusion?, Both Bozzio and Pearts styles have everything!, Geez man Bozzio is more musically minded than all of them!, his set up is simply a piano in disguise!(thats chromatonic and diatonic), lets see weckl play that!, And i dont get why Portnoys is there, he should be in a school rock ensemble, not with those masters.

Weckl is just an arrogant cunt, hes not that good!.

Weckl could never touch Bozzio!

@85Aheadstix Peart hasn't mastered it all and neither has Bozzio. Neither of those drummers can do what Portnoy and Weckl are capable of. I dunno why you think Portnoy's overrated but if you listen to Dance of Eternity, Nightmare to Remember and the youtube video "Mike Portnoy's Killer Parts" you will see he is an elite drummer on par with anyone who has ever sat behind the kit.

@metalmike83 I agree!, i think the only ones that have mastered it all are Peart and Bozzio, the others are kinda overrated in my opinion.
