Fred Astaire was a big fan of Bojangle's. He was often seen in the audience many times when Bill was performing.

There's a great mural of Mr. Bojangles on a wall here in Richmond. This reminds me that I need to go take a picture of it before it inevitably disappears.

What a shame that scene was cut! Bill Robinson was one of the greatest tap dancers of all time!
